The Oregon Ballet Theatre presents “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” playing Oct. 8 through 16 at Portland’s Keller Auditorium. Magic and merriment abound in our joyful fall program. As the curtain rises, the audience meets a family of circus performers in the Oregon Ballet Theatre premiere of Christopher Bruce’s “Hush.” The show continues with George Balanchine’s “Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux,” an eight-minute treat of bravura and ballet technique. The program concludes in an enchanted forest with Christopher Stowell’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Based on Shakespeare’s famous comedy, this work has it all: star-crossed lovers, mischievous pranksters, and ethereal woodland fairies set to Mendelssohn’s score performed live by the Oregon Ballet Theatre Orchestra.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8, 14 and 15 and 2 p.m. Oct. 9 and 16. Tickets range from $30 to $110 at portland5.com/keller-auditorium/events/midsummer-night%E2%80%99s-dream?.
