Oregon Symphony’s Free Waterfront Concert and Festival

The Oregon Symphony presents its free festival and community concert from 1 to 9 p.m. Sept. 3 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 1020 S.W. Naito Parkway, Portland. It’s the largest free community concert in Oregon. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. The festival begins at 1 p.m. The concert begins at 7 p.m. The symphony will perform a range of classical and popular favorites, including pieces by John Williams, Mozart, Puccini and Brahms. The program concludes with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Also hear local artists like Portland Taiko, jazz ensemble MYSfits, vocalist Alonzo Chadwick and Zoulful, blues and gospel vocalist LaRhonda Steele, Jan Michael Looking Wolf with Indigenous flutists, harmonica player Jon Powers with Courtney Von Drehle of 3 Leg Torso on accordian and Orquestra Pacifico Tropical.
