Downtown Ridgefield will host its sixth annual Multicultural Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 2. This year’s theme is “Beats and Rhythm.” Performances include the Taiko Drum group Takohachi, Portland Samba, the chicha, cumbia, and afro-Peruvian music of Grupo Masato, African dance and drum group, Kaagba Ohenaa and Master Oh’s Taekwondo team, with King Khazm as emcee. The festival is a partnership between the City of Ridgefield and the nonprofit Ridgefield Multicultural Initiative.
The event includes activities for all ages, craft and farmers market vendors, food trucks selling a variety of cuisines and information booths. Enjoy African drum and dance classes, a tap class and a crystal singing bowl sound bath. The festival is free, though the classes require registration. The crystal singing bowl sound bath is $10.
