Beacock Music will host a series of Ukulele Day Camps for middle school students ages 10-14 from July 5 to July 26.
Students are welcome to attend one, two, or all of the day camps. Camp is held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a 1 hour lunch break. Lunch can be purchased for $10, or students may bring a lunch from home.
Students must bring their own ukulele, instruments will not be provided.

Camp schedules are as follows:
July 5 – Level 1: This camp is designed for kids with little to no ukulele experience. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of playing the ukulele including instrument parts and terminology, care, tuning and how to practice. Basic strumming styles, learning 3-4 chords and how to put these elements together will then be covered.
July 12th- Level 2: This camp is designed for kids with some ukulele experience. The basics of playing the instrument and tips on keeping up with good practice habits will be reviewed. Students will learn several new songs and be introduced to concepts of playing with others and incorporating singing into their practice.
July 19 – Disney for Uke: This camp is designed for students with some ukulele education, which can include the completion of the July 5 Level 1 camp. The main focal points of this camp will include repertoire, playing together and solo as well as incorporating singing into practice.
July 26 – Combined Ukulele Levels: This camp is for all levels of ukulele players. The emphasis will be on playing together and the importance of working as a team when it comes to music. Students will learn several new songs with basic chord progressions which can be played at a beginner or intermediate level.
