Vancouver Bee Project Speaker Series: Introduction to Native Bees

Come to the Vancouver Community Library’s Columbia Room from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 13 to learn about native bees. Learn about types of native bees, their roles in ecosystems and their behaviors and habitats. The course will cover how to identify common native bees, the challenges they face and practical steps to support their populations, such as creating bee-friendly habitats and gardening practices. Instructor Kyle Roslund is the founder of the Vancouver Bee Project and is a volunteer with the Washington Native Bee Society and the Washington Bee Atlas and is part of the OSU Master Melittologist Apprentice Program.
