The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s 10th Anniversary Chamber Music Series continues at 3 p.m. May 7 at the Royal Durst Theater, 3101 Main St., Vancouver, with “La Passione,” featuring soloists Angelika Furtwangler, viola, and Alan Juza, oboe, with the Chamber Orchestra. This concert, conducted by Dr. Igor Shakhman, includes the works of Haydn, Telemann, Chevalier de Saint-Georges and Albinoni.
The orchestra will present Haydn’s “Sturm und Drang” symphony “La Passione,” along with the historically significant “Viola Concerto” by Telemann, Albinoni’s eighth “Concerto for Oboe” from “12 Concerti a cinque,” and violinist Chevalier de Saint-Georges’s “Symphony No. 1.” Tickets ($25) are available at vancouversymphony.org.
