The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra‘s season continues with father-and-son guests Maestro Gerard Schwarz and cellist Julian Schwarz on April 22-23 at Skyview Concert Hall, 1300 N.W. 139th St. in the Salmon Creek area of Vancouver. Maestro Schwarz will lead the orchestra in a program of all-American composers, including George Gershwin’s “An American in Paris” and works by Samuel Jones, Valerie Coleman, Howard Hanson and Schwarz himself. Julian Schwarz will perform the solo in Jones’s “Cello Concerto” and Gerard Schwarz’s “In Memoriam.”
Tickets are on sale now at vancouversymphony.org or by calling 360-735-7278. Livestream-only tickets are also available and all in-person ticket holders have the option of viewing the program live online.
The April 22 performance at Skyview Concert Hall will begin at 7 p.m. and the pre-concert show Da Capo, airing only on the livestream at 6:30 p.m. During intermission, the livestream will feature special video programming. The April 23 performance will begin at 3 p.m., with the livestream programming at 2:30 p.m. All ticketholders will receive a secure email link in order to access the live stream performances. A tech support team will be on standby to assist with any issues.
