TreeSong Nature Awareness and Retreat Center, located at 41 Tree Ific Dr West in Washougal, will host a Wild Plant Basics workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 22.
In this workshop, attendees will learn the how to identify, harvest, and propagate many of the plants we see around us. The course will explore edible, medicinal, and utilitarian applications as attendees become familiar with each plant’s unique intricacies. Instructor Brenton Spratlen will discuss the importance of plants in wilderness survival and their preservation for future harvest. As well as discuss the basics of making soothing salves for insect bites or chapped skin, and how to make cordage with the materials nature provides. Harvest will depend on health of crop and instructor discretion.
