Winter Sampler Adult Group Music Class

BassFitz is offering a Winter Sampler Adult Group Music Class at Sons of Norway Hall, 2400 Grant St., Vancouver.  The class meets weekly for six weeks and the first class is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 12. The last class is Feb. 16. The cost is $120 per person. Register at jam-session-checkout.square.site.

The Winter Sampler session will be three sections, each lasting two weeks and covering classic R&B, jazz and blues and Americana. Music charts and examples will be supplied before class begins. This course will teach students to recognize music from each of these three genres and explain why these songs fit into these categories. Students will learn about chord structure, form and types of soloing scales. Three instructors will be together during the class so that students can learn and try new things. Suggested instruments are guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, vocals, harmonica, drums or violin.
