Kids in grades 1-5 can practice their literacy by reading to Scamp the therapy dog at the Camas Public Library. Parents can sign their children up for a 15-minute time slot between 4 and 5 p.m. on the third Monday of every month. Register is required at CamasPL.org/TalesWTails.

This type of meditation encourages self-observation by focusing on the inner self in a non-judgmental way. There's a $1 to $10 suggested donation to participate but no one will be turned away.
