The 23rd annual Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival is Aug. 25-27 in Esther Short Park, 605 Esther St., Vancouver. The Festival brings together 17 jazz, blues, and gospel bands, 60 Northwest wines, 20 fine artists and local cuisine. Grammy Award-winning and nationally acclaimed headline bands include Spyro Gyra, Blind Boys of Alabama, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, saxophonist Grace Kelly, virtuoso banjo player Alison Brown Quartet, blues guitarist Sue Foley, New Orleans-based Bonerama Brass Band and The Pascal Bokar Afro Blue Grazz Band. Northwest jazz and blues bands include Norman Sylvester Band, Bottleneck Blues Band and The Ne Plus Ultra Jass Orchestra. Tickets range from $40 to $70. Kids under 12 are free with a paid adult.
