Columbia Play Project will host its first Bricktastic! Competition and Showcase. The showcase will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 17 at Clark College STEM Building, 1950 Fort Vancouver Way. Entrance is free and guests can vote for their favorites.
Columbia Play Project is calling for bricks and minifigs (Legos) creations in several categories to display at the showcase. Anyone can enter; visit https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeug1xLn-5UnWfbb_FfFMsMID6ZsVtfTgB8Ky8tlN_ox-QFPw/viewform. Entry forms must be received by Sept. 10. Prizes will be awarded to the best in show, best in category and the board award for the best from a child age 10 or under. There is no cost to enter but all creations must be original (no kits). Entrants may submit in more than one category.
Columbia Play Project has a three-phase plan to create exploratory play activities focused on the themes of people and culture, the natural world, and engineering and arts. Phase I includes themed play kits to be used at home and pop-up parties in Clark County parks. Phase II is a mobile museum with removeable exhibits that can be set up outdoors for socially distanced play. Phase III is a a children’s museum, a brick-and-mortar play space with indoor and outdoor play areas and permanent and rotating exhibits.
