The Water Resources Education Center, 4600 S.E. Columbia Way, Vancouver, will offer a free mason bee workshop from 1 to 2:30 p.m. March 25 led by Kyle Roslund, bee expert from the Vancouver Bee Project.
As temperatures warm and flowers start to bloom, mason bees emerge from hibernation. These solitary bees are vigorous pollinators. By keeping a mason bee house in your garden, you can provide shelter for these important helpers and promote pollination of your plants. Each household will receive one free mason bee house kit to assemble and take home after the workshop, which is held both indoors and outdoors.
Registration is required at cityofvancouver.us/publicworks/webform/mason-bee-house-workshop.
