In honor of Transgender Awareness Month, the Mill Plain United Methodist Church Social Justice Team welcomes Jackie Stone from the Northwest Gender Alliance to lead a discussion that covers the scientific grounding of transgender, intersex and nonbinary people, the importance of pronouns and the reality of personal experiences so that we can create a welcoming, safe and respectful community for all. There is no fee to attend, but please bring a food item to donate to FISH Orchards food bank as part of Mill Plain United Methodists Church’s Lenten Food Drive. The discussion will take place form 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 21 at 15804 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver. For further reading, see Trans-Gender: Theology, Ministry and Communities of Faith by Rev.
