Sewing Machine Basics Class: Drawstring Fabric Bag

Palmer/Pletsch will offer a sewing machine basics class from 1 to 4 p.m. March 29 at the Sew-Op and Maker Space, 1507 Broadway St., Vancouver. The cost for the class is $75 per person. Attendees will sew a drawstring storage or gift bag and in the process, learn, or re-learn, to use a sewing machine, including sewing seams and turning corners. The class, which includes a refresher on proper pressing, includes basic sewing supplies including sewing machines to use during the class. Students can select from supplied fabric and ribbon or they may bring their own 1/2 yard of quilting cotton and two yards of 1/4-inch to 1-inch-wide ribbon.
