The public is invited to take a tour of Prairie High School, Laurin Middle School and Glenwood Heights Primary School from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on May 25. At Prairie, visitors will see the school’s greenhouse, watch robotics in a computer science class and see ceramic pieces made by students. Visitors to Laurin will see an eighth-grade history teacher’s classroom, the school’s Zen Den and a special education classroom. Visitors to Glenwood Heights will see a second-grade classroom where academic interventions are used to support students and a new curriculum is being piloted. Visitors also will stop by a fourth-grade classroom demonstrating English language arts instruction and classes that support multilingual learners and help students meet academic standards. The tour will conclude with a free lunch prepared by Prairie High School culinary students and a musical performance. The tour will begin and end at Prairie High School. Transportation will be provided between schools.
