WSU Extension Master Gardeners will host a Garlic Growing Workshop from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 12 at the 78th Street Heritage Farm, located at Northeast 78th Street and Northeast 19th Court in Hazel Dell. The cost is $5. Topics will include choosing which type to grow (hard neck or soft neck) and when to plant, as well as tips for fertilizing and irrigation, when to harvest and how to cure and store it. Each participant will take home a clove with instructions on planting for next spring. Dress for the weather and bring water. Accessing the site requires a short walk on uneven ground.
