Master Gardener and professional florist Jayne DiMarco will present a talk on planning a cut flower garden from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23 at the 78th Street Heritage Farm at N.E. 78th St. and N.E. 19th Court in Hazel Dell. The workshop includes details on selecting and caring for flowers appropriate for arranging and information on how to select flowers that bloom around the same time. Participants will make a visit to a cut flower demonstration garden where they will make a hand bouquet to take home. Students should bring a pair of snips and a vase or mason jar or use a provided vase. Students should dress for the weather, bring water and be prepared to stand and walk on uneven ground.
