The Camas Public Library presents “Walking with Our Ancestors: Bridging Generations in Chinook Culture,” at 6 p.m. Nov. 15. Speaker Sam Robinson is the third great-grandson of Thomas Huckswelt and Cha’isht, a Lower Chinook headsman and a Willapa Chinook woman. Robinson has served on the Chinook Indian Nation Tribal Council for over 22 years. He is a member of the Chinook Canoe Family and serves on the Chinook Education Committee and the Natural Resource Committee. Robinson will share stories told to him by Chinook elders and discuss how Chinook people are revising their culture through canoe life ceremonies. No registration is needed for this event.
