45th Parallel and All Classical Portland Present John Cage’s “The City Wears a Slouch Hat”

Attend a multimedia celebration of the genius of composer John Cage. 45th Parallel welcomes the hosts of All Classical Portland for a performance of “The City Wears a Slouch Hat” by John Cage at 7 p.m. Oct. 6, conducted by Metropolitan Youth Symphony director Raul Gomez-Rojas. The program features pianist extraordinaire Maria Garcia, Oregon Symphony principal clarinetist James Shields and the Gemini Percussion Quartet.

The performance will be at The Old Madeleine Church in Portland’s Irvington neighborhood at 3123 N.E. 24th Ave. and will be recorded for future broadcast on All Classical Portland. Arrive early for the no-host bar and enjoy a signature cocktail from Wild Roots Vodka or wines from Sokol-Blosser. General admission is $30 or $20 for seniors and students.
