The Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver, will unveil its new exhibit “Through the Decades: Clark County Historical Museum at 60,” which highlights the museum’s first 60 years. The museum is hosting a ribbon-cutting at 11 a.m. May 24. The public is invited to explore the new exhibit and help museum staff recreate the museum’s 1964 opening day photo, when 2,000 people gathered to celebrate the opening on May 24 of that year. The exhibit features important figures and events over the last six decades of the museum’s operation, from Dr. John Brougher to Pat Jollota to preserving historic sites to History on Tap. Additional activities include a scavenger hunt, a talk abut BIPOC women aviators and story-sharing. The exhibit will be installed in the museum’s flat panel gallery and open through the spring. Admission fees will be waived on May 24 and May 25. Loowit Brewing Company, 507 Columbia St., Vancouver, has also created a limited edition beer to commemorate the museum’s anniversary.
