Clark County Historical Museum Speaker Series — “Black Woman in Green: The Story of Gloria Brown”

Clark County Historical Museum opens its 2024 Speaker Series season at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 with “Black Woman in Green: The Story of Gloria Brown” presented by historian and author, Donna Sinclair at the museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver. Doors open at 6 p.m. Sinclair will discuss her book, “Black Woman in Green: Gloria Brown and the Unmarked Trail to Forest Service Leadership.” Co-written with Gloria Brown, the book details Brown’s journey from an agency transcriptionist with the US Forest Service in D.C. to becoming the first African American woman to attain the rank of forest supervisor for the agency. Admission is $5; seniors and students are $4; children under 18 are $3; and the evening is free for museum members, veterans and active-duty military personnel.
