The Greater Vancouver Chamber is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host the National Civics Bee from 10 a.m. to noon April 22 at Providence Academy, 400 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver. The program helps young people become better informed about American democracy and tests their civics knowledge. Middle school students across the region participated by submitting a 500-word essay then 20 students were selected to compete in the bee. First, second and third-place winners will earn cash prizes. The public is welcome to attend.
