The Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas, hosts Poetry Open Mic Nights from 6:15 to 8 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month. Read aloud your original or favorite work, and listen to monthly featured poets. All ages are welcome and the poetry night is family-friendly.
The Reading Room will open at 6:15 p.m. Readers must sign in by 6:25 p.m. Poetry readings will begin by 6:30 p.m. Readers may recite original poems or favorite poems. The order of readings will be determined by the sign-in sheet. Each reader will have 3-5 minutes to read, depending upon total number of readers. Comments and feedback will be given after the final poet has read.
Poems should not contain language unsuitable for family, e.g. profanity or sexually explicit materials. Time limitations will be enforced to ensure all readers can participate. Everyone should plan to stay until the final poems are read.
