Tour the City of Vancouver’s Marine Park Wastewater Treatment Plant from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 22. Discover the hidden journey of wastewater after it travels down your train. How far does it travel? Where does it go after it is cleaned? After the tour, take a nature walk to the Columbia River to learn about the riparian ecosystem. The treatment plant tour and nature walk will last approximately one hour each.
Tour participants must be 10 years of age or older and wear closed toe shoes. The tour will occur both inside and outside, rain or shine. Please dress for all weather conditions. For the stroll to the Columbia River, expect to walk 1.5 miles on paved pathways and uneven and sandy beaches.
