Learn about the history of old Vancouver at this volunteer event at the Old City Cemetery, 2700 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, from 1o a.m. to noon Oct. 22. Participants will get an educational history tour from the National Parks Service and have the opportunity to join a service project for National Make a Difference Day. Volunteers will clean headstones, pull weeds and pick up litter. Training, gloves, tools, water and snacks will be provided. People of all ages and abilities are welcome. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. Youth under 18 must bring a signed minor consent form.
