Get septic certified and save money with the Well and Septic System Maintenance Workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7 at the 78th St. Heritage Farm, N.E. 78th St. and N.E. 19th Court, Hazel Dell. The workshop includes septic self-inspection certification. Registration is required at ws120723.eventbrite.com or by contacting Terry Koper at 564-397-5729 or terry.koper@wsu.edu. The cost is $17.85 per household.
The workshop will teach participants how to maintain and inspect their septic systems and safely maintain their well water. Clark County requires an inspection of gravity-fed septic systems every three years. Getting self-inspection certified allows homeowners to inspect the system themselves every other time instead of hiring a professional. The workshop is hosted by the Small Acreage Program of Washington State University Clark County Extension with support from Clark County Public Works Clean Water.
